The Fiber Fanatics of Northwest Oklahoma met recently at Gallery@112 in Sayre to plan an exhibition and demonstration of various types of fiber art including spinning, weaving, crochet, knitting, and felting among others. The event will take place Saturday, July 13, 2013, 10 AM until 3 PM at Gallery @112 located at 112 West Main in downtown Sayre. Members of the group will be sharing the techniques of the various fiber art forms and will also have many of their handmade items on display. Members of the organization attending the meeting were Marilyn Hines of Colony, Vicki Williams and Bill Kelly of Watonga, Donna Smith and Marna Davis of Hitchcock as well as Melanie Murray and Christa Craft of Elk City.
In addition, Melanie Murray of Elk City will be teaching a beginning needle felting class at Gallery @112 on Thursday, June 13 at 7-9 PM. Cost for the class is $30 and includes all supplies to make a finished art piece. It is sponsored by the Rivers Edge Arts Society.
